Olga Levina and Bastian Suazo shine outside of Lloret

The month of November has ended with double joy for the Club d'Escacs Lloret, with the good results of two of our young talents, Olga and Bastian .

Olga Levina participated in the 1st Maresme Open Chess Tournament during October and November, where she achieved three points out of a possible six, with two wins, two draws, and two losses. Some of her results were truly spectacular, such as the draw against the tournament director (1974 Elo rating) and the victory against a player with an Elo rating of 1813. These fabulous results against players with ratings more than 380 and 500 points higher earned her the prize for best under-12 player. We are sure that we will soon see Olga's rating above 1700 Elo.

On the other hand, Bastian participated in the Active Age Group Championship in the under-14 category . Despite being ranked sixth initially, he finished the championship in a spectacular second place, with five wins out of six possible and beating players with one hundred and two hundred Elo points more , which clearly reflects that his level is higher than his current rating and, therefore, we are also confident that he will achieve a ranking increase very soon.

The Club would like to congratulate both players, as well as acknowledge their effort and dedication, both in class and at home, and encourage them to continue with this good work, which is already beginning to bring them the success they deserve.
