The Club d'Escacs Lloret achieves 3rd place under-12 in the Girona championship of active players by age.

Up to 23 teams participated last Saturday, May 3rd, in the Girona Team Chess Championship, divided among the different categories from under-8 to under-16. In total, seven players from Lloret participated in the under-8, under-12, and under-14 categories.

In the under-12 category, Lloret reached the podium and added another trophy to the club's collection, with a team comprised of Olga Levina, Arnau Jiménez, and Andrei Frolov, and captained by our coach Albert Olivas. Our players achieved a score of 8.5 points, allowing them to finish third. The category was dominated by Club Ajedrez Gerunda, which secured first and second place.

The club's under-14 team came very close to the podium, finishing 4th, and in the under-8 category, Elián Lopez and Matthew Torres finished 5th as part of a mixed team. The tournament, in its new format, brought together the best children's chess teams from the province of Girona.
